Marc Chagall

Today we have been exploring the poetic, whimsical and narrative art of Mark Chagall. We focused on one of his early paintings, “I and the village”. This is a very evocative painting, since it shows in dreamlike and playful perspective Chagall’s memories of the Hasidic community of the Russian village he grew up in. The children have been painting their own dreams and fairytales, analysing and using the structure of the painting as a starting point.
