Alberto Giacometti

In this workshop we have introduced to the children the frail human figures represented in the sculptures of the Swiss artist Alberto Giacometti. Showing how his work was influenced by primitive art, which being less civilized was, for Giacometti closer to a true aesthetic. Accordingly to Giacometti artworks the children have been realizing them in the slenderness possible proportions, grasping the artist’s idea of communicating a sense of distance and of loneliness. In fact to Giacometti his creating sculptures embodied also a spiritual experience.
