Georgia O’Keeffe

Today, inspired by the beautiful exhibition at the Tate Modern http://www.tate.org.uk/whats-on/tate-modern/exhibition/georgia-okeeffe we have been introducing to the children the art of Georgia O’Keeffe. Despite her reserved nature she became the major figure in America Modernist Painting. Her vision of art was based on an intense observation of nature in order to be able to reproduce its abstract and primary forms.
Among her favorite subjects, she loved to paint close-up flowers. The children have realised their flowers in the way the artist did, expanding them to bring attention to their color, shapes and all the tiny details.
