Pointilism / Georges Seurat

We started by displaying cotton buds, paper, sticky tape, elastic bands and other different materials. Then we introduced the children to an art technique, pointillism, through which an image is formed by painting small and distinct dots of pure colors, one applied close to the other, to compose an entire painting.

After showing the children several images of George Seurat ‘s paintings, they themselves produced their own amazing images solely out of small dots, and they realised surprising shades of colors.
